Cheryl VanAtta the Jewel of Tharp Funeral Home

Tharp Funeral Home Bedford VATharp Funeral Home has a jewel in Cheryl VanAtta. Cheryl brought light into our lives when my mother in-law passed away recently. Dealing with death is tough for me and anyone who has lost a family member can probably relate too. In 2008 my mother in-law and my wife Maureen met with a Tharp Funeral Home representative to plan the funeral for my Mother in-law, Mary Ann Mulcahy (Grammy). At the time they knew the day would come when we would have to deal with making the arrangements for her funeral. It was important that we honored her wishes and when she passed away on April 6, 2013, we were devastated. Grammy had lived with us for 8 years and was part of our family. It was especially tough for my wife and daughter as Grammy was their best friend.

Out of the dark and shining bright was Cheryl VanAtta, her gentle and comforting spirit was the person God put in my wife’s life to bring comfort in the toughest time of her life.

Who would have thought the experience of your mother’s death could be comforted by a funeral home employee. Tharp Funeral Home overall is great company to deal with and for them to have Cheryl on their team was a blessing to our family.
